Films made specifically for television will, for the first time be part of the Montreal World Film Festival, according to its director (and originator) Serge Losique.
The TV fare will participate in a special category in the Festival which unspools in Montreal, Canada, August 25 to September 5.
Losique said he expected record attendance for this year's Montreal event, which last year offered 601 screenings during a 12-day run and included feature film presentations from 59 countries. There were also 189 shorts. A total of 135 Canadian films were screened, and that number is likely to be exceeded this year.
