Here's a flash you'll welcome: A silent, solo journey through meno-pause was something our mothers and grandmothers might have faced. But not us.
A group of local women refusing to give in to fluctuating hormones, mood swings, depression and hot flashes have united, and they meet once a month at the Ob/Gyn Health Center Asso- ciation in Troy.
They're the Red Hot Mamas, part of a national network of support groups dedicated to helping women deal with the many facets of menopause. Since January, about a dozen or so women have met locally to discuss anything and everything related to menopause.
