The story of the Van Raalte Mill and the workers who labored in the city's first major manufacturing operation will be told in a historical exhibit that opens Saturday.
``Because You Love Nice Things: A History of the Van Raalte Mill'' debuts at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Historical Society of Saratoga Springs Museum in the Canfield Casino in Congress Park.
James Parillo, the historical society director, said the exhibit draws heavily on former employees of the mill, which manufactured high-quality lingerie.
The story of the mill is not just that of a factory making products, but of the community ...
