Jan. 17--The staff at the Monterey Bay Aquarium spent the past five months feeding and taking care of a young shark, knowing they would eventually have to set the animal free. Early Tuesday, after 137 days in captivity, the male white shark was released into Monterey Bay. "Certainly the experience of releasing an animal is always bittersweet," said Christina Slager, a curator at the Aquarium. "We were all fascinated to watch it, but also happy to release it while it's still vigorous and healthy."
