The Wii doesn't come across as a home entertainment system or even a media center PC, but the inclusion of the Opera browser opens the door to these possibilities.
A free trial version of Opera Software's Opera browser became available for download to Nintendo Wii owners in late December.
"Wii users will enjoy navigating the Web with the flick of the Wii Remote while viewing their favorite content with ease from the TV screen. We are proud of our product and are working hard to make the final version of Opera as revolutionary as the Wii itself," said Opera Software CEO Jon von Tetzchner.
