Jan. 18--The brick building sitting beneath the 131-foot-high standpipe at S. 15th and Ferry streets in Easton was about to be demolished two weeks ago. But resident Maurice Luker brought the project to a halt by raising questions with state and federal officials about the historical value of the 1904 building, which the city and the Easton Suburban Water Authority were ready to discard.
