MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia can stop worrying about a winner-takes-all game at South Florida next week.
Connecticut (5-5, 2-4) unexpectedly beat South Florida 15-10 on Saturday, meaning the No. 12 Mountaineers clinch the Big East title no matter next week's result.
"We're obviously excited to win the outright Big East championship," coach Rich Rodriguez said. "Our young men have worked very hard all season to achieve this goal."
