Synopsis: Americans are more likely to trust the Iraq Study Group than President George W. Bush to recommend the right actions for the conflict in Iraq, 66% to 46%. The public is not too familiar with the specifics of the initial Iraq Study Group report issued in early December, but they favor in principle recommendations to remove most combat troops from Iraq by 2008, negotiate with Iran and Syria, and jumpstart the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
