Lt. Col. Robert F. Pressly of Albany is about to lead Marines as they serve along with civilians in Iraqi communities.
Pressly will soon deploy with the 6th Civil Affairs Group to the al-Anbar province of Iraq to conduct civil-military operations.
Pressly's unit was activated June 1 for training in preparation of missions in Iraq. The 6th CAG is only one of two Marine Corps civil affairs units formed for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
As a member of 6th CAG, Pressly will be working daily to establish a secure, self-governing and self-sufficient Iraq, according to Col. Paul Brier, 6th CAG commander.
