SEOUL, Jan 18 Asia Pulse - The South Korean government is pushing to issue a report on the local housing market as part of its efforts to curb high housing prices, officials said Thursday.

The white paper, to be issued with the next two months, will analyze a surge in local home prices and assess the government's series of property regulations, they said.

President Roh Moo-hyun ordered government officials last month to issue the paper, the first such one under the current administration, to make an "objective" assessment on the government's property policy and send a "clear" message to the local housing market, government officials said.
