Being undefeated and ranked No. 2 in the state is the equivalent to being painted with a big, fat target. The Champlin Park girls' basketball team found that out Tuesday.
Coon Rapids played a strong first half and weathered a late rally to upset Champlin Park 62-60, handing the Rebels their first loss of the season.
The Cardinals led 34-28 at halftime but Champlin Park, ranked No. 2 in Class 4A by the Minnesota Basketball News, rallied to take a 60-59 lead.
But the Rebels (14-1) fouled Coon Rapids post Michelle Syverson with 13 seconds to go and Syverson hit both free throws, giving the Cardinals (10-4) a one-point ...
