CHESTER, S.C.-- The quest for technology to produce highquality, wrinkle-resistant, allcotton garments using formaldehyde4ree resin treatments is an ongoing goal of Sequa Chemicals.
Sequa Chemicals, based on 79 acres of land here, has been a leader in the search for resins with reduced levels of formaldehyde.
Bernard F. Noah, senior scientist for research and development, was honored by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists last year as the recipient of the Henry E. Millson Award for invention. The AATCC said a patent issued to North in 1983 "is generally regarded as a landmark in ultra-low-formaldehyde technology."
