Jan. 18--Twelve Angry Men is one of the greatest American films, and an indelible lesson in civics. Virtually the entire drama takes place in a jury room, as the dozen impassioned jurors deliberate over the fate of a young man on trial for murder. Emotion initially clouds the majority's thinking, but the cool, deliberate application of reason calms tempers and saves the defendant's life.
