Jan. 18--SPRING VALLEY -- A 53-year-old Spring Valley woman -- Louise A. Connor -- died Wednesday morning in an apparent accidental fire, according to the Fillmore County Sheriff's Department.
Sheriff Daryl Jensen said authorities received a call about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday from a tenant in an apartment building near downtown Spring Valley. The tenant reported smoking coming from his furnace.
Jensen said the Spring Valley fire department responded and found a smoldering fire in the adjacent apartment, where they discovered the Connor's body. The State Fire Marshall's office is assisting in the investigation.
