Growing up on the streets of a compact Massachusetts city, Diamond Ferri played football on concrete fields, where running out of bounds meant colliding with parked cars. It was there he paved his way to the present, competing for a career in the National Football League.
The 23-year-old safety signed with the New York Giants as a free agent rookie in May. He begins summer training camp at the University at Albany on Saturday, facing the improbable task of securing a roster spot despite not being drafted.
