BALLSTON SPA - In the days leading up to Thursday's showdown with unbeaten Columbia, Ballston Spa football coach John Bowen gave his team the following message:
"The uglier the football game is," Bowen said, "the better it will be for us."
It was ugly, all right, and like their coach predicted, the Scotties were better for it. Ballston Spa controlled the clock with short-yardage runs and limited Columbia to 136 yards of offense in a 13-9 win Thursday night at Ballston Spa High.
