Byline: RICK CLEMENSON Staff Writer {FACTBOX} High HolidaysRosh Hashana, literally ``Head of the Year,'' falls on the first day of Tishri, the seventh month of the Hebrew lunar calendar, which marks this new year as 5767. It starts at sunset. The ensuing 10 days are believed to be the time when God judges people and writes their fate for the new year in the Book of Life. The book is closed at the end of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, the most sacred day of the year. The High Holidays usually begin and end with a blast of the shofar. This year, because Rosh Hashana falls on the Sabbath, the opening horn won't sound until Sunday.
