JAKARTA, Jan 19 Asia Pulse - State-owned airline Garuda Indonesia said it will lay off 900 workers if it fails to increase the number of its aircraft to improve its efficiency and productivity this year.

The management has set aside US$20 million for separation pay, Garuda Finance Director Alex Maneklaran said.

Alex said the lay off is part of the program to restructure the organization of the company, which has 5,600 workers.
