Jan. 19--BRUNSWICK -- Jean Tynan creates hooked rugs, soft, colorful and durable enough to last for generations.

Tynan buys bolts of wool and dyes the fabric red, blue, green, beige and more, to create the colors that give her rugs definition. But the hues she creates are not all the same, and she likes it that way.

"I use a dye spoon, and you will have a different amount each time," she said. "That's what makes it interesting. It isn't vat dyed."
