WATERVLIET - Hart-chrom Inc., a chrome-plating manufacturer at Watervliet Arsenal, will double the size of its operations with a $4 million investment.
The Army will spend an additional $2 million to provide environmental testing, remediation and site preparation for the expansion.
Officials with the Arsenal Business & Technology Partnership, an economic development group helping to bring private businesses to the Army manufacturing facility, said Monday the commitment is the largest single private investment made there. The partnership has received $15 million in government and private money since 2001.
