BOSTON - The Red Sox lineup that Joel Pineiro saw Saturday was a far cry from the one that pounded the Mariners right-hander in two starts last season. There was no Damon, Varitek, Nixon, Mueller or Renteria. Millar could have even made a difference this time.
Facing what could have passed for a spring training lineup, Pineiro and two relievers shut out the Red Sox 3-0 in a snoozer at Fenway Park.
"Whoever we put out there, we always feel like we're going to win," Red Sox manager Terry Francona said.
