DUII deaths aren't accidents

Russell Sadler needs to get up to speed on his DUII facts in "Sober drivers are deadly too" (Register-Guard, Dec. 31). It's been years since "most states allow a .10 blood alcohol content." All 50 states consider a driver to be intoxicated at .08 blood alcohol content. Oregon also has a .04 blood alcohol content for commercial drivers, and 41.2 percent of all Oregon fatalities in 2005 were caused by drugs or alcohol, or a combination of both.

I agree with Sadler that distracted cell phone users and sleep-deprived drivers are a danger and can and do cause accidental deaths. The difference ...
