DEAR HELOISE: When my father died, many people sent flowers and plants. We came up with a great way to thank those people. Because most of the arrangements had been sent by out-of-town family and friends, we took a picture of each one and enclosed it in their thank-you cards. That way, they could see what they sent and have a little something to remember his services.

We also took a lot of flowers off the arrangements and hung them upside down in the attic.

I was able to make each of my siblings, my mother and myself a dried flower wreath. They are lovely reminders of Dad.
