GLENS FALLS - Averill Park coach Dave Pugliese said the formula for beating Gloversville was simple: Control the tempo and you will win the game.
Good idea, considering Gloversville entered Friday's Class AA semifinal matchup as the fifth-highest scoring team in Section II at 67.25 points per game. Pugliese wanted the Warriors to run their offense, walk the ball up the court, and get to the free-throw line. Anything to slow the pace.
"It's not a pretty way to play," Pugliese said. "And I'm sure it's not very fun for the guys. But you know what, winning is fun."
