AVERILL PARK - Seated behind her desk in the athletic office at Averill Park High School, June MacGilfrey faces her biggest fear - the fear of no room.
Allergy season is right around the corner, as is the arrival of spring sports, most of which begin play within the next month. For now, Averill Park practices are held inside, until temperatures rise and the weather becomes bearable. On Thursday, lacrosse, tennis and track teams split the high school gym, and baseball and softball teams shared another gym at Algonquin Middle School.
Things wouldn't have been so crowded, but those pesky Averill Park basketball ...
