AVERILL PARK - Playing with determination and composure from the start, the Averill Park girls' basketball team didn't just stage an upset Friday night. Many observers would say the Warriors came of age.
That's what a 45-39 victory over perennial power Shenendehowa will do.
"It's a total, total program win," Averill Park coach Sean Organ said about his team's milestone triumph, the first ever against the Plainsmen. "It's the result of the families of these girls who have supported them for years."
