Amy Scheffer hit a pair of free throws with six seconds left to give Schalmont (11-3 overall, 10-2 league) a 34-33 victory over Lansingburgh in girls' Colonial Council basketball action on Friday night in Rotterdam.
"I yelled at (Scheffer) as she was going by to go to the hoop," Schalmont coach Ed Pendt said. "She went to the hoop, got fouled and made the free throws."
Scheffer finished the game with eight points and Kelly Woodrow topped the Sabres with 12 points.
Schalmont got off to a slow start and was outscored 13-3 in the opening quarter.
