BURNT HILLS - The girls from Burnt Hills survived. After completing their toughest three-game stretch of the season, the Spartans (11-2 overall, 8-1 Suburban Council) emerged with a 2-1 record thanks to a 34-31 win over Averill Park (10-2, 6-2).
In a seesaw game that had 14 lead changes, including nine in the third quarter, Burnt Hills took a 26-25 lead with the last basket of that period and never trailed again.
The Spartans dodged a bullet, though. With 3:54 left in the third, Sarah Morton picked up her fourth foul.
