Jan. 21--WASHINGTON -- As a member of the U.S. Navy Reserves, Chris Carney reports for duty every month as reservists are required.
That won't change now that he's a member of Congress.
The Susquehanna County Democrat and lieutenant commander in the Navy Reserves is one of a few federal lawmakers who continue to serve in the military after they've settled into their new jobs at the nation's capital.
"I don't want any special privileges," Carney said. "Doctors, lawyers and other members of Congress are involved and it's just something you have to do."
