When the bhikkhuni sangha joined the Order, the bhikkhu sangha was already in existence. The major four parajikas for the bhikkhus were already in practice and the bhikkhuni sangha have taken over the first four parajika rules from the bhikkhu sangha. The first one being:
Ya pana bhikkhuni chandaso methunam dhammam pati seveyya antamaso tiraccanagatena pi, parajika hoti asamvasa.
