Jan. 22--SPRING VALLEY LAKE -- Not even the Saints-Bears match-up could keep residents away from a meeting Sunday to oppose a Wal-Mart SuperCenter, where emotions became heated at times.
"I am horrified, horrified, that my 7-year-old is going to be looking at a parking lot of Wal-Mart," said Kathleen Hathaway, who was among nearly 200 people who showed up to weigh in on the proposal.
Another resident asked why the city of Victorville was making decisions about her community -- a lakeside homeowner's association that's part of unincorporated San Bernardino County.
