BEIJING, Jan 22 Asia Pulse - An agreement aiming to improve the transparency of China's strategic oil reserves is likely be signed between the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Chinese central government during IEA Executive Director Claude Mandil's visit to China.
The agreement is considered to be a vital step towards transparency in China's oil reserves and stabilizing the international oil market.
This is also the first visit to China for Mandil in the last two years, which indicates that the IEA, viewed as the watchdog for energy security for the world's wealthiest nations, pays high attention to the progress of China's oil reserves.
