MIAMI _ Former Dade County Assistant Public Defender Hugh Rodham, brother of first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, headed for an Oct. 4 run-off for the Democratic nomination in what is considered a wild-card bid to unseat incumbent Republican Connie Mack in the U.S. Senate.
Rodham, whose supporters celebrated at the Biltmore Hotel, will face unemployed radio talk-show host Mike Wiley of Orlando, who made a surprisingly strong showing. Wiley edged maverick Miami lawyer Ellis Rubin for second place. Rodham remained secluded with his family late Thursday in a hotel suite and could not be reached for comment.
