Metro Transit - the area's largest operator of buses and trains - is now also in the business of getting people to ride together in cars and vans.
The transit agency has taken the old Minnesota Rideshare under its wing and updated the neglected ride-matching service. By weeding out more than 4,000 outdated names from the commuter database and keeping the list current, Metro Transit hopes to make it easier for would-be carpoolers to find a ride-share partner.
