Jan. 23--As rain began to wash away the snow-packed dog sled path, Nancy Haddock's dog team took a final lap this past weekend in the winter weather.
Haddock's 7-year-old Alaskan malamutes, Nanook and his sister Faith, pulled Haddock's 19-pound wooden sled in northeast Oklahoma City on Saturday. By Sunday, ice and snow turned to mush because of rain in the area.
Haddock's dog team pulls a motorized sled with rubber wheels several times a month during most of the year. The team also includes Scooter, a 2-year-old Catahoula.
The dogs do not get too many chances to pull a snow sled in Oklahoma, however.
