Jan. 23--The Industry Ministry has told factories at Map Ta Phut in Rayong to improve their pollution controls or face tighter licensing restrictions in the future.
Industry Minister Kosit Panpiemras said he had formed two working groups to oversee the pollution discharged by the factories in the heavily industrialised area.
One group will study the extent of pollution, while a second will work with operators to improve production technology to reduce air and water emissions.
If efforts to curb the problem failed, Mr Kosit said plans to allow new plants in the area could be revised. He said the Southern Seaboard ...
