Janet Mostrom looked out on a sea of people gathered Monday on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., and smiled.

Despite the long bus ride from Syracuse, icy sidewalks and hours spent waiting in bone-chilling weather, Mostrom said she knew the annual March for Life was the right thing to do.

"I'm really glad to see there are so many young people," said Mostrom, 15, a sophomore at Fayetteville-Manlius High School. "A lot of people think that only old, religious people do this."

Mostrom was among more than 200 teens who traveled from Central New York in buses sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse youth ...
