The European Regulators Group for Electricity and Gas (ERGEG) has published a Customer Information Handbook, setting out best information practices in countries that have already opened residential markets to competition. The handbook is aimed at retail consumers of gas and electricity ahead of market opening from 1 July 2007. "This should give EU energy customers the freedom to shop around and switch supplier," ERGEG said in a statement.
