Jan. 24--ANTIOCH -- An environmentalist group has asked Contra Costa County and the city of Antioch to investigate an Antioch golf course that it says is endangering delicate habitat by poisoning squirrels illegally. Mount Diablo Audubon Society sent a letter Tuesday to the county Board of Supervisors as well as Antioch's mayor and City Council asking them to audit Roddy Ranch Golf Course, which it says has been violating the terms of its land-use permit by putting out poisoned bait for the ground squirrels that burrow holes in the grass.
