Jan. 24--CALHOUN -- The Owensboro Catholic High School boys' and girls' basketball teams swept Cloverport in the semifinals of the All "A" 3rd Region Tournament on Tuesday night at McLean County High School.
Catholic's boys used a strong start to claim a 49-32 win, and the girls were never threatened in a 58-26 decision.
It was a much-needed confidence builder for the boys, who had dropped their previous nine outings.
"This tournament has been our goal since the summer," said Catholic's Blake Sterling, who scored a game-high 15 points. "We knew we could compete."
