A small plane tumbled into a residential neighborhood and exploded inside a house Tuesday, killing one person believedto be the pilot, officials said.
A body was found in the wreckage of the house and plane more than four hours after the 10:25 a.m. crash, said Chauncey Twine of the National Transportation Safety Board.
Westchester County Medical Examiner Dr. Millard Hyland said the victim was a 26-year-old resident of Putnam County, but further identification was awaiting notification of next of kin. A full autopsy on the body was scheduled for today, he said.
