Jan. 24--MOUNT PLEASANT -- It's back to the drawing board for the town's $1.7 million Visitor Center after questions arose Tuesday about its purpose.
Members of the Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee committee asked:
Is it primarily a visitor center? Or is it also a place, such as Alhambra Hall, people can rent for parties, weddings and other social events?
"Nothing is set in stone. This is a very early stage of the design," said Alan Jackson, a project architect.
How to pay for a projected cost overrun of $399,025 also was a concern of the committee. Some members suggested cutting design and ...
