Jan. 24--Two more taco carts were shut down this week by The Salt Lake Valley Health Department, part of a recent crack down on weather-related violations at outdoor food carts. Last week, the department shut down 10 carts for code violations.
El Taco Loro, 1585 W. 3500 South, was closed Tuesday, according to a notice posted on the department's Web site, for failing to have water available at the hand sink, holding potentially hazardous foods at too low of a temperature (124 degrees), storing cooked meat with raw meat and using an unapproved canopy.
