Scientists are about to identify a piece of a gene believed to cause the most common maternally inherited disease - Duchene muscular dystrophy, a top researcher says.
"It's 100 percent certain," said Donald Wood, the associate director of research at the Muscular Dystrophy Association in New York City. "I anticipate that within the next month, you would have some piece of the (suspected) Duchene gene in hand."
