Twinkies, watch out!
Tastykake is ready to do battle in the Capital District for a slice of the $84.8 million snack-food market.
Monday, Tastykake will begin selling its snack cakes and pies throughout the Albany Metropolitan area in quest of a 25 percent share of the $4.5 million market. The company owns a 35 percent market share in the mid-Atlantic region.
It is to be distributed by Charles Freihofer Baking Co., Albany. The snack cakes and pies will also enter the Central New York market for the first time, being sold as far west as Syracuse.
