One heard just a little Italian spoken at Albany's ninth annual Italian Festa, held Sunday at the Empire State Plaza.

Peeking out from the line of red, white and green vendors' umbrellas, where Americanized calzone, sausage-and-pepper hero sandwiches, and pizza was for sale, was the sign "non toccare, grazie" at a table of bronze curios.

Italian was in the conversations of women who spent days baking the cream-filled cannoli and the sugared Napolitan svoglitelli, and could be heard behind the tables of cornmeal polenta and pasta fagioli.
