Southern Air Transport, a former CIA airline that has been ferrying supplies to the U.S.- backed rebels in Nicaragua, has flown jet fuel into predominantly military bases inside Angola, a Marxist African country waging a war against U.S.- supported guerrillas.

Three sources told The Hearst Newspapers that they also witnessed the American-owned, Miami-based cargo airline transport Cuban troops fighting for the Angolan regime, as well as Angolan troops. Many of them had been wounded in clashes with UNITA guerrillas, led by Jonas Savimbi, one of the sources said.
