Andrew O'Rourke dusted off another of the many hats in his closet Monday and took time out from gubernatorial campaigning to do his biannual stint with the Naval Reserve.
O'Rourke, the Westchester county executive who is also an author and New York's GOP candidate for governor, donned his Navy captain's uniform in preparation for three days' duty at the Pentagon.
It is not an unusual role for O'Rourke, who has been in the Naval Reserve since 1964, when he left active duty. He's had many different duties in the service, but his enduring interest has been the Soviet navy.
