For Gary Clair, burglaries are too frequent occurrences.
In the last year and a half, Clair's garage, located on Lexington Avenue off upper Union Street, and his car have been broken into twice. "I think kids get in somehow and take whatever is in the car like stereos and tapes. Luckily for me, there wasn't any damage," he said.
Clair's neighborhood has always been part of a Neighborhood Watch Program, but he says no new efforts have been made to further organize its residents against what appears to be an increasing crime rate.
