The sport of canoeing can grab you like the bite of a mosquito.
Once you experience the feeling of gliding silently across a crystal lake propelled only by the paddle in your hand, you may be bitten for life.
Canoeing can involve a simple evening paddle across a nearby pond or an extended wilderness trek in the Adirondacks. In the Forest Preserve to our north, you can find more than 2,000 lakes and ponds, as well as 1,200 miles of rivers. Most of this great wealth of water can be covered by canoe.
